Navigating your Reviews inbox
The Reviews inbox helps you monitor and manage customer feedback across all your local business listings in one centralized hub. It can be accessed at the account, group, or location level by clicking Reviews > Inbox.
The inbox features four primary tabs:
- Inbox: The default view for this section. It shows the latest reviews that have not been responded to.
- Pending: Houses draft responses waiting for approval (active when approval workflows are enabled).
- Outbox: Stores approved responses waiting to be published natively on non-integrated networks (such as Uber Eats or ApartmentRatings).
- All Reviews: View, filter, and manage incoming feedback across your locations. Click the three-dot icon and select Export CSV to download a tailored report.
How to respond to reviews
Moz Local makes it simple to engage with your customers, whether you're managing one review at a time or responding across integrated networks. To respond to reviews directly from within Moz Local for networks like Facebook or Google, follow the steps below:
- Go to Reviews > Inbox at your desired account, group, or location level.
- Select a review and click Respond.
- Type your response in the text box.
- Click Send Response to publish it directly to the review network.
If you have the Reviews AI feature, you may see an AI-suggested response already drafted for you. You can edit this response by clicking Edit or send it as is by clicking Send Response.
Responding to reviews outside of Moz Local
For review networks not fully integrated into Moz Local, you can still draft and track your responses through your inbox.
For non-integrated review platforms like BBB or ApartmentRatings, use the Copy & Publish feature to post your approved responses natively while keeping your records up to date.
- Go to Reviews > Inbox and select the review you want to address.
- Draft your message, then click Respond to send it to the Pending tab if you have approvals in place, or to the Outbox tab if you are the approver.
- Once an Admin approves the response, navigate to the Outbox tab and open the approved review.
- Click Copy & Publish. Moz Local copies your response to your computer's clipboard and opens the review page on the native platform.
- Log in to the native review platform, paste your draft into the response field, and publish it.
- Return to Moz Local and click Mark as Resolved to clear the review from your Outbox.
Pro tip: Marking reviews as resolved will help you keep accurate records of who you’ve responded to and how long it took to interact with the customer.
Responding to multiple reviews in bulk
You can save time by applying uniform responses across multiple reviews at once while keeping options open for individual personalization.
- Go to Reviews > Inbox.
- Select the checkbox at the top or check off individual reviews.
- Click Bulk Respond to open the Respond to All pop-up.
- Select your response mode in the top-right corner:
- Bulk: Applies a single response to all selected reviews. Use dynamic tags like {%AuthorName} (via the Localize button) to automatically insert reviewer names.
- Single: Allows you to review and tailor individual responses for each review in your queue.
- Click Apply To Reviews to update your draft responses.
- Personalize your drafts to ensure they sound organic, then click Send Response to finalize.
Note: Clicking Apply To Reviews populates your drafts—it doesn't publish them. Make sure your location details (like phone numbers) are filled out in your account settings if you use corresponding dynamic tags.
Tagging reviews
Use tags to quickly label, group, and search your reviews to spot trends and prioritize feedback.
- Click the tag icon next to any review.
- Select a suggested tag or type your own (separate multiple tags with commas or press Enter/Return). You can include spaces, numbers, symbols, and emojis.
- Click Save.
- Tag visibility: Account-level tags appear across all groups and locations. Group-level tags show at the group and account levels. Location-level tags are visible at the location, group, and account levels.
- Searching tags: Use the non-case-sensitive Tags search bar to find labeled reviews instantly.
